I have looked all over for cute Ideas for St. Patricks Day, and I cant find a thing. So I'm going to make some of my own. Keep your eyes out for them .

Ingredients 1 ½ cups teddy bear shaped graham cracker cookies
1 ½ cups miniature marshmallows
1 ½ cups semi sweet chocolate chips
½ cup brown sugar
1 (quart) mason jar

Directions

Layer all ingredients in the mason jar and attach an instruction label that reads:
“Preheat oven to 350º F. Prepare a 9” square baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Pour contents of the jar along with ½ cup melted butter into the prepared baking dish and press firmly. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely. Cut into bars.”

Ingredients 2   large eggs, room temperature

1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoon red food coloring
1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cream Cheese Frosting:
1 pound cream cheese, softened
2 sticks butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar
Chopped pecans and fresh raspberries or strawberries, for garnish

Instructions:
Place the pieces of glycerin in a styrofoam cup and place it in the microwave. Microwave at high for 30 second intervals until melted. Fill the mold almost half full with the glycerin and let it set. Place charm on that half and fill up the mold with the rest of the glycerin (you will more than likely have to reheat it).
Pop out when firm. Wrap in plastic wrap. Place in a soap dish along with three or four other soaps you have made. Makes a lovely gift to a young girl or teenager.
Note from Sherri: If you do not have molds to use, you can make a round bar of soap using a small bathroom cup as a mold!

What You Need:

Box frame
Hi-tack glue
Self-adhesive picture framing tape
Felt squares in four shades of red and pink
Green paper/card
Pack of pearl-headed pins

Skill Level: Beginner

1. Use the template to cut nine heart shapes from the four shades of felt.
2. Remove the white mountboard from the frame and glue a square of green card in the centre of the board.
3. Glue the felt hearts on in three rows of three and leave to dry.
4. Write a two word message, such as 'Be Mine' on two small paper scraps and use two pins to attach each to a heart.
5. Assemble the frame and tape the backboard in place.

Using a standard salt dough recipe as follows ::

2 cups flour

1 cup salt

1 cup warm water

Mix flour & salt together, add warm water. Knead until dough is smooth. You will want your surface floured well.

Take small pieces of your dough and roll into a long rope. Then the free forming begins! Shape your rope into a heart. Use your imagination and make curly q’s, twist two ropes together, use a knife to score your dough. Have fun with it! You can use a little dab of water to stick your hearts together at the seams. Just press lightly to seal.

Then you will place your hearts on a foil lined cookie sheet. And bake at 300 degrees for 45-60 min. Keep an eye on them for the last few minutes. You don’t want them to get too done.

When they are baked and cooled. I just use regular craft paints to bring them to life! Then I rough them up a bit with sandpaper to give them a distressed look. *Sand gently* or you might snap your creation in half!

This step is optional but I like the antique look it gives. Take watered down dark brown craft paint and brush it on. With a paper towel dab off the excess.

Once your paint is dry it is time to dip. I use clear paraffin. I made a double boiler out of a sauce pan and a glass bowl. Place just enough water into the sauce pan so that it is not touching the glass bowl. Let your wax completely liquefy, turn off heat and begin carefully dipping and placing your hearts onto wax paper to set.

Now we are ready to make our ornaments! I bought individual scrapbook paper on clearance for 29 cents a sheet. And ribbon on sale for 59- 99 cents a roll.

Take your scrapbook paper, place your heart on it and trace around. Cut out your heart shape. Add your ribbon before gluing your paper to the back of your ornament.

I used these little ZOTS to stick my paper onto my heart. Just place a ZOT in the upper left, right, middle and bottom. You could probably use a dot of hot glue for this step too.

Petal guest soap

Materials Needed:

• Melt & Pour Soap (clear)
• Double Boiler
• Fabric Flower Petals
• Tweezers
• Wax Paper

Instructions:
Melt the soap using a double boiler. Use the tweezers to dip a flower petal into the melted soap. Gently shake off any excess soap and then lay it on wax paper to dry and harden. Repeat this step to make as many soap petals as you like.
Once all of your petals are dry, arrange them in a decorative bowl and place in your guest bathroom or any place else. These petals can also be used the bath tub. Simply toss in a few when you are running the water!

Chef Hat Instructions

Supplies:

1 -  18" circle
1 -  8" X 24" rectangle
1 - 8" X  24" lightweight to medium weight iron on interfacing
dental floss
1/2 inch Velcro (about 12")
3" piece of double fold bias tape

Instructions:

Iron interfacing to 8" X 24" piece following manufacture's instructions. Press  fabric in half lengthwise and press each edge under 1/2".

Fold piece right sides together, starting 1/2" down from open side, stitch across each end. Turn right side out.

Stitch a 3" piece of bias tape around an edge of the circle.

Zig zag stitch over a piece of dental floss starting and stopping on each side of bias tape.

Gather.

Pin band piece around the gathered edge. Find center of band and center of top piece and begin pinning there.  Adjust gathers until the band fits the gathered edge, starting at stopping about a 1/4" over the bias tape on each side (notice how the 1/2" that wasn't sewn on each end neatly slips around the bias tape). Pin heavily to keep in place.  This takes some adjusting but it is so nice to have all the unfinished edges covered.

Sewing very close to the edge, sew band to top of hat, removing pins as sewing to keep band flat. It might be necessary to slightly pull the band to keep it smooth.

In the back fold left side over as far as the bias tape opening will allow on top of right side. Place Velcro in this overlapping area and sew all four pieces to hat band.

Sew along each edge of each end if desired, to close area placed over bias tape.

Finished!

1. Paint the lid Engine Red. Allow to dry.
2. Cut out a large heart to go on front of jar and a small circle to fit on top of lid from the gingham paper. Glue into place with Mod Podge.
3. Cut out heart shape from pink paper to go on top of the gingham heart. Glue it in place with Mod Podge.
4. Cut out a smaller red heart and glue on top of the pink heart with Mod Podge.
5. Cut a large craft stick to the length of the word phrase using scissors. Paint it Wicker White. Glue the phrase to the front with Mod Podge. Allow to dry. Apply a finish coat of Mod Podge to the paper only that is glued to jar and lid. Put a finish coat also on phrase. Allow to dry and then hot glue the red bow and small glitter heart in place.

Valentine Pots

Burlap Heart Wreath Total cost $2.00

Supplies for 1 wreath

1 metal hanger
12" X width of  burlap (my burlap was about 50" wide)
glue gun
a rotary cutter to make cutting the strips easier
dental floss

Instructions

Cut 3 - 4" X about 50" burlap strips. Sew these three pieces together, so you have one long strip. To gather the burlap, machine zig zag stitch over dental floss.  I used red cinnamon flavored floss so it wouldn't show, even though it looks white in the picture. Pull the floss and gather the burlap.

Bend 1 wire hanger into a heart shape.

Adjust gathers to fit around frame, cutting off any extra that isn't needed. Hot glue to wire frame. I used clear fishing line to hang, but a pretty white bow would be nice.

If you want a no sew method, Craftaholics Anonymous gathered the burlap by threading it about every three inches or so right onto the wire Hanger.

Friendship Box

What you'll need:

• 1 empty box, any size
• Valentine themed wrapping paper or pink/red construction paper
• Pink construction paper
• White paper for poem
• White craft glue
• White ribbon
• Scissors

How to make it:

1. Wrap the empty box in wrapping paper or construction paper.
2. Tie white ribbon around the box and tie into a bow on the top.
3. Print out the poem below.
4. Trim the poem and glue the trimmed poem to pink construction paper.
5. Trim the pink construction paper to give it an even border all the way around.
6. Glue the poem to the box.
